Using 100% black to paint in more detail and 100% white to paint out the areas you don't want visible, you can decide how much of the original detail you want in your final sketch. I set my airbrush opacity to 5% black to paint detail back into the sketch and bring back the desired parts of the base image. I set my airbrush to 10% opacity white to remove the areas of the image I don't want.
I created this sketch in 43 seconds flat!
